ABOUT US

The Anxiety and OCD clinic is a psychological service for the treatment of anxiety disorders in adults, including social anxiety, panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder and general issues with life stress.

We offer a range of evidence-based therapies across different modalities (such as in-person and telehealth) and hope to make psychological treatment more accessible.

Meet Meredith

Meredith Blampied is a clinical psychologist who enjoys working with adults experiencing mental health issues. She has worked in a range of areas, both in the public and private sector, in New Zealand and Australia. Meredith is particularly interested in treating anxiety difficulties, including obsessive compulsive disorder and trauma and uses a range of evidence-based therapies to help clients find relief from symptoms. Her approach to psychological difficulties includes a thorough assessment of the issues and provision of treatment in a timely, effective and straightforward manner for clients. Meredith's approach is upfront and direct, although she is understanding of the barriers many people experience when trying to make changes to their life and mental health. She is mindful of the toll that mental health issues take on individuals and whānau and is focused on helping clients achieve their goals and aspirations, learning to live with and manage their mental health.

Meredith’s research interests include investigating the role of nutrition in mental health, exploring feedback-informed treatment and best-evidence practice for anxiety disorders, particularly Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  Meredith has also worked on a number of research projects in the areas of earthquake anxiety, child development and learning and social psychology. Meredith is a research consultant on various projects involving nutrition and mental health.

Meredith was born in Ōtautahi and has been lucky to live in a number of countries around the world. She is passionate about bi-culturalism and representing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in psychological work. Her hobbies include baking, netball and playing board games.

Services

A standard 50-minute appointment with a Clinical Psychologist is $200 for in-person and telehealth appointments.

Private Health:

If you hold private health insurance, you may be eligible to have some, or all of your session fee covered. Please contact your health insurer prior to your first appointment to check your eligibility. We are happy to email receipts to assist with claiming private health insurance.

Work and Income New Zealand:

You may be eligible to claim your Disability Allowance, which includes cover for therapy. Please contact Work and Income New Zealand prior to your first appointment to check your eligibility. We are happy to provide a letter of confirmation for WINZ if necessary.
